Bonnie J. Addario is a lung cancer survivor, Co-Founder and Chair of the Board of Directors of the GO₂ Foundation for Lung Cancer, and most recently Founder and Chair of ALCF. GO₂ Foundation for Lung Cancer transforms survivorship as the world’s leading organization dedicated to saving, extending, and improving the lives of those vulnerable, at risk, and diagnosed with lung cancer. They work to change the reality of living with lung cancer by ending stigma, increasing public and private research funding, and ensuring access to care.

A molecular biologist with research experience at the U.S. National Institutes of Health and an interest in cancer-related molecular changes, Jeff joined Friends of Cancer Research in 2006. He focuses on developing policies that bring cancer patients effective and safe treatments. Among other programs, Friends of Cancer Research joined the Lung Cancer Master Protocol (Lung-MAP) — a private-public partnership seeking new treatments for advanced non-small cell lung cancers.

A biochemist, academic researcher, and pharmaceutical executive, Lou joined LLS in 2005. The theme of his professional life has been saving lives through drug discovery. He continues that at LLS, where he created a variety of programs, including LLS’s Therapy Acceleration Program and the precision medicine Beat AML Master Trial, which seeks treatments for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) — a still deadly blood cancer.

Sue Friedman, DVM was a practicing veterinarian when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 33, and afterwards learned she carried a BRCA2 mutation. Determined that no one should face hereditary cancer alone, Sue founded Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) to fill the information void for people facing adult hereditary cancers. As Executive Director, Sue has 20 years of experience addressing the needs of individuals and families affected by hereditary cancers. FORCE’s education, research, support, and advocacy programs were developed under her direction. FORCE serves a diverse population of cancer survivors, previvors, caregivers, relatives, and health care providers.

With a concentration in business reporting during her master’s degree at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, her work — including projects on four continents — can be found in various other news outlets, including The Boston Globe, The Washington Post’s Wonkblog, and Cape Town’s Weekend Argus.

A medical oncologist with research interests in new therapeutic approaches to breast cancer, targeted therapy, and supportive care, Lee has published more than 150 research papers. He believes that the best cancer-treatment programs can treat all forms of cancer in one place, which is the goal of the West Cancer Center.
