Newk’s Cares

Lori Newcomb – co-founder of Newk’s Cares and wife of Newk’s Eatery co-founder and CEO, Chris Newcomb – was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2013. Her vision and dedication helped Newk’s raise critical research funds and invaluable awareness of the disease. To date, Newk’s Cares has raised more than $1,000,000 for ovarian cancer research.

National Ovarian Cancer Coalition

The mission of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors. Through national programs and local NOCC chapter initiatives, the NOCC’s goal is to educate communities and increase awareness about the symptoms of ovarian cancer. The NOCC also provides information to assist newly-diagnosed patients, hope to Survivors, and support to caregivers. The NOCC is also committed to the advancement of ovarian cancer research.

SHARE is a national nonprofit that supports, educates, and empowers women affected by breast or ovarian cancer, with a special focus on medically underserved communities. SHARE meets women wherever they are with the insight of others who have been there too, creating a nationwide community where no one feels alone. SHARE’s free services, provided in both English and Spanish, include support groups, expert-led educational programs, a national helpline, community outreach, online communities, corporate education programs, advocacy opportunities, caregiver support, and survivor-patient navigation.

Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer. Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service

A dynamic organization dedicated to supporting gynecologic cancer survivors, their caregivers, family, and friends. Through the generosity of a robust volunteer network, Kelly Gynecologic Oncology Service now includes an awareness and fundraising race, educational conference, retreat for women with recurrence and their caregiver, and a support group for male caregivers, and touches more than 1,000 people annually.
