The Tutu Project

Twisted Pink is a grassroots non-profit organization with a mission to extend lives and improve quality of life for late stage breast cancer patients and their families by funding metastatic breast cancer research. Over 1 million dollars has been raised to fund metastatic breast cancer research since the organization was founded in June 2014.

Equal Hope

Equal Hope was started in 2008 after data emerged that revealed Black Women in Chicago diagnosed with breast cancer were 62% more likely to die from the disease than comparable White Women. Startled by this inequity, the community came together and developed a unique model to analyze Chicago’s breast health system and how it was failing Black women. With that information, we developed an evidence-based, multipronged approach to address this disparity. This approach involved improving the quality of breast care, advocacy for system change and navigation to help uninsured and underinsured women overcome the systemic barriers to better health outcomes.

Unite for HER provides integrative therapies and services to breast and ovarian cancer patients at no personal cost. Through the Unite for HER Wellness Program, patients can receive services like nutritional counseling, meal deliveries, professional counseling, fitness classes, and more.
